Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

PhD student is well versed in the methods of restoration of functional use of landscape affected by industrial activities. Studet PhD is able to apply knowledge in the research and scientific activities. He is able to solve problems related to the restoration of landscapes.

Summary

The subject includes existing Czech and world knowledge of the area of land consolidation, land improvement and land reclamation leading to achieving landscape homeostasis. Supraregional and regional systems of ecological stability. Limitation of negative impacts of mining activity and manufacturing on the landscape by biological methods. Creation of landscape in the area of mineral resource extraction. Topographic correction and territorial redevelopment of landscape. Opencast and underground mining and its negative impacts on the landscape. Ecological characteristics of devastated areas. Reclamation technologies and methods. Situation of mine waste dumps and spoil heaps in the landscape. Reclamation economic effectiveness.
