Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will get the capacity for orientation in the problematic of environmental analysis at user level, will be able to define needs, to prepare sampling strategy and analysis tactic. Will be able to cimmuniucate with analytical laboratory. Studium will be individual reflecting subject of thesis.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

Summary

Specific problems of analytics of environmental compartments. Taking samples of soils, water, air, emissions and waste, their stabilization, transport and treatment. Separation techniques. Classical methods of analysis (gravimetry, volumetry), electrochemical methods (potentiometry, polarography, coulometry), spectroscopic methods (IR, UV-VIS, AAS, ICP, XRF), chromatography (GC, HPLC, TLC) and phase analysis (X-ray diffraction). Continual analyzers. Typical pollutants and their analysis. Metrology in analytical chemistry, ensuring the quality of analyses.

Compulsory literature:

Literature will be selected individually according thesis subject.
