Summary

The course focuses on sludge that forms as an inseparable part of wastewater treatment and purification. The character of the sludge is given by its composition and properties of the treated, or purified water. Therefore, its properties differ widely. The course provides complex information on available technologies to be applied in the processing of water-management and sewage sludge, including sludge arising from treatment of industrial wastewater. Next, the course deals with the technologies of sludge treatment and its further use options. Due attention is also paid to relevant legislation.
