Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to prepare graduates of technical universities for scientific work in the raw materials industry and other engineering fields. After completing the course, the student will be able to: - define, characterize, use a suitable type of industrial waste for the design of a new composite; - correctly design the process of processing industrial waste into the final form for use in composites; - correctly design a suitable type of composite based on industrial waste; - determine, test and evaluate the properties of composites based on industrial waste for subsequent use in practice.

Summary

The course deals with research and development of new composite materials based on industrial waste. The subject discusses suitable types of waste that can be used in new composite materials. Furthermore, the procedures of treatment of a given type of industrial waste, which can be used in the design of a new composite after treatment, are discussed. Furthermore, the actual procedure of designing a new composite and methods, procedures for testing chemical, physical-mechanical and deformation properties and their method of evaluation are discussed.
