* Students should be able to use GDAL and OGR library with Python for developing and modification of geodata. * Students should be able choose and use appropriate parts GDAL and OGR with Python in a context of a specified situation in processing geodata. * Students should be able appraise difficulty of GIS software development in a context of a specified situation.

Summary

The subject is focused on using Python with GDAL and OGR library for scripting with geodata at different complexity level. There are solved tasks of processing vector and raster geodata as well. Another libraries for processing geodata like Geopandas, Shapely, Rasterio, PySAL are mentioned too.

Subject syllabus:

1) Python, news and dissimilarity Python v.3 and Python v.2 2) GDAL library and its part OGR, OSR, Python binding library 3) Using GDAL and OGR in open-source GIS and in another tools 4) Possibilities of using GDAL and OGR for solving spatial tasks 5) Python libraries for processing geodata (Geopandas, Shapely, Rasterio, PySAL etd.) 6) General Python libraries for solving spatial tasks (NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib atd.)
