Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with basic aspects of implementation IS/IT in organizations. Specific features of GIS and GIT construction are explained. The student will gain the knowledge for complex design, analysis, evaluation and examination of needs for informative changes in organization, with focus on geoinformation technogies.

Summary

The subject links to Spatial Database Systems I and evolves reached knowledge of design, analysis, production, implementation and running of information systems. Within the subject are consulted individual stages of life-cycle IS/IT, from proposal of information strategy to the running and finalization of IS and individual category and level of assignments in architecture of IS/IT. The special attention is given to application of geoinformation technologies.

Functional analysis. Data flow diagram and UML. 4) CASE systems. 5) Strategic planning of IS. Design of IS architecture, layers and tasks on the architecture. 6) Architecture of IS application, including grid computing, cloud computing. 7) Development of IS. 8) Classic approaches to IS construction. BSP, PQM, ERP, TOC. 9) Prototyping. Object oriented approach to IS construction. Unified proces. Rapid development metody 10) MIS. Data warehousing. EIS. Transaction systems, 11) Application for external relationships (EDI, CRM) 12) Outsourcing. System integration. 13) IS implementation and economical issues. Efectiveness, Costs. Benefits. Mandatory attendence participation: Continuous check of processing tasks during exercises. Written and oral examination.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Materials for an individual study are available at http://homel.vsb.cz/~hor10/Vyuka/ where you can find also topics for the exam. Consultations (both personal and online) with the lecturer are possible. The exercises are individual based on a semester project which has to be completed to the end of the exam period for the given semester. The exam is conducted only in person.
