Summary

The student acquires necessary range of knowledge about the sources of spatial data used in the field of geoinformation technologies. The course is focuses on an overview of the available data resources of the state and the commercial spatial data and their suitability for different application areas. Students will be familiar with the main datasets for the area of vector, raster and elevation data. The lectures include knowledge of current legislation, standards and directive related to spatial data. During the exercise students will learn basic spatial data manipulation, data import, digitizing analogue data and their registration into the coordinate system.
