Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to give information students about principles of geographical information systems, ways of application, practical realisation, project design, proposal of procedures, possibilities of interpretation.

Teaching methods


Electromagnetic radiance, spectrum. Radiometric variables. Radiance sources. Interaction with environment. Reflectance. Influence of atmosphere. Dispersion, absorption in atmosphere. Land cover - identification and evaluation of objects. Data collection. Camera. Films. Types of photos. Radiometer. Mechanical scanner, electronic scanner. Carriers. Satellites and sensors. Principles of remotely sensed data processing. Objective of remote sensing. Photo interpretation. Principles of digital image processing. Application of RS.

Subject syllabus:

1. Elektromagnetické záření, elektromagnetické spektrum. 2. Radiometrické veličiny. Zdroje záření. 3. Interakce s prostředím. Odraz. 4. Vliv atmosféry. Rozptyl v atmosféře. Absorpce v atmosféře. Přenosová funkce atmosféry. 5. Krajinné objekty a jejich identifikace a hodnocení. Umělé objekty. 6. Vegetace. 7. Voda. Horniny a zeminy. 8. Pořizování dat – základní rozdělení. 9. Kamery. Filmový materiál. Druhy snímků. 10. Radiometr (vč. spektrálních měření, detektorů, kalibrace). Mechanický skener, elektronický skener. 11. Nosiče. Družice a jejich přístrojová technika. 12. Principy zpracování dat DPZ. Úloha DPZ. 13. Interpretace fotografických snímků. 14. Princip digitálního zpracování dat DPZ. 15. Aplikace DPZ.
