Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main aim of the subject is to give students knowledge of computational perspective of geoinformation technologies, to understand its influence and impact to results of analysis provided by geoinformation technologies.

Introduction to spatial concepts, ontologies, spadial data models, representation and algorithmus, spatial reasoning and time.

1) The fundamental spatial concepts: a. Euclidean space b. A metric space c. topological space d. network space e. fractals 2) Data model for geo-data: a. A modeling and ontology b. Modelling as a process c. The models based on the phenomenal view on the real world d. object models based on view on real world 3) Spatial reasoning and uncertainty 4) Dealing with time and spacetime
