Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main aim of the subject is to give students knowledge of computational perspective of geoinformation technologies, to understand its influence and impact to results of analysis provided by geoinformation technologies.

Introduction to spatial concepts, ontologies, spadial data models, representation and algorithmus, spatial reasoning and time.

1) Basic spatial concept. Euclidean space 2) Metric space 3) Topological space 4) Network space 5) Fractals 6) Data models for geodata. Modelling and ontology 7) Modelling as a process 8) Models based on a phenomenon view of the real world 9) Models based on real-world objects view 10) Spatial reasoning and uncertainty
