The main aim of the course is to give the resume of the program ArcGIS Desktop a ERDAS Imagine functions and its possibilities and point to native data files specifics that are processed within these products.

Summary

The course brings the overview of two program packages ArcGIS Desktop and ERDAS Imagine, used for GIS implementation. The main aim of the course is to give the resume of the functions and programs possibilities and point to native data files specifics that are processed within these products. Meaningful contribution connected with successful passing the course is in building the grounds for the following self study and for the knowledge improvement that enable him/her to use these program packages in learning process and to solve their own projects.

- ArcGIS software structure. - Data import and export using ArcGIS data interoperability. - Spatial data visualization using ArcGIS. - Spatial database structure design in Geodatabase. - Spatial data editing using ArcGIS. - Topology building in ArcGIS environment (Geodatabase). - Spatial analysis overview in ArcGIS environment. - ERDAS Imagine software structure. - Data import and export using ERDAS Imagine data interoperability. - Spatial data visualization using ERDAS Imagine. - Spatial database structure design using ERDAS Imagine. - Spatial data editing using ERDAS Imagine. - Topology building in ERDAS Imagine environment. - Spatial analysis overview in ERDAS Imagine environment. - Image processing using ERDAS Imagine.
