Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Knowledge rendered after completion of the course:
The student demonstrates knowledge necessary to supplement the description of selected basic geospatial technologies (GIS, GNSS, Database Systems, Remote Sensing) in the process of collecting, processing and analyzing spatial data.
Skills rendered after completion of the course:
Students can generally distinguish between different technologies applied during the basic life cycle of spatial data. Student is able to characterize the use of geoinformation technologies in processes of production and processing of spatial data.
Teaching methods
Terrain work
Summary
The course is introductory exercise that precedes regular courses in first semester. During the exercise students try to collect spatial data and basic data processing by using of GIS and GNSS under the guidance of the tutor. In addition they try spatial analysis and presentation of spatial data in form of maps.
The aim of exercise is to provide to the students a basic idea of the practical use of various geoinformation technologies in the context of practically solved tasks.
Compulsory literature:
required literature is not specified; aids will be provided to students during lessons (GNSS receivers, tablets, computers with installed software in computer labs)
Recommended literature:
recommended literature is not specified
