Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student demonstrates knowledge of: - phenomena and errors affecting GNSS positioning, - GNSS techniques based on differenced and undifferenced observations, - long-term and short-term coordinate changes in time, - estimation of tropospheric and ionospheric parameters from GNSS measurements, - realization of GNSS observation collection for various applications, - the available software in the area of study. The student can: - process data from various GNSS measurements using the Precise Point Positioning method and the double-difference method, - solve long-term routine GNSS processing in order to obtain time series of precise coordinates of receivers, - collect GNSS observations for a following post-processing, - estimate from GNSS observations not only receiver position, but also other unknown parameters (tropospheric, ionospheric, multipath, etc.)

Summary

The course is focusing on increasing theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced techniques for positioning using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) with various types of devices and software while utilizing current possibilities of modernized (GPS, GLONASS) and new (Galileo, BeiDou) navigation satellite systems.
