Summary

The course is based on the basic cartographic principles. It focuses on the implementation of cartographic tasks in the computing environment. Selected cartographic themes are lectured with an emphasis on linking computer cartography and geographic information systems. The course includes topics: Concepts and specifics of computer maps, reference systems in computer cartography, maps on Internet mapping sites, digital cartographic data sources in the Czech Republic, Metadata computer maps, Web maps and atlases, interoperability and more.
