The aim of this subject is to provide students with knowledgw and skills necessary for study of follow on subjects and for research and diseratation theses.

Summary

The course provides basic information on the breakdown of geography, methods geographic research and geographic data sources. Emphasis is placed on understanding differences in geographic sub-disciplines, as well as their common aspects. In more details there are lectured physical geography, especially geomorphology with regard to follow-up for spatial objects (eg digital elevation model).

1 Introduction to Physical Geography - development, classification, relationship to other disciplines 2 Research Methods in Physical Geography 3 Meteorology and Climatology - basic definitions and concepts, classification, meteorological services and organizations 4 Meteorology and Climatology - meteorological elements and phenomena, methods of measurement and observation 5 Meteorology and Climatology - atmospheric circulation 6 Meteorology and Climatology - topoklima 7 Meteorology and Climatology - complete climate system, climate change and climate fluctuations 8 of Meteorology and Climatology - air protection 9 Hydrology - basic definitions and concepts, classifications, services and organizations 10 Hydrology - surface water, Hydrometrie, hydrography (basin characteristics), limnology 11 Hydrology - subsurface water
