Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to educate students how to create databases for spatial data and utilise DBMS for solving of different spatial tasks.

Summary

Data administration in RDBMS and ORDBMS. Client-server processes. Extension of SQL. Geometrical data types. SQL/MM:1999. OGC Simple Feature Specification. Storing and indexing of spatial data stored in databases. Spatial queries. Spatial trajectories. Data mining and pattern. Transaction, distributed processing.
