Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main goal of the course is to reach advanced knowledge about (spatial)data collection and processing using Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV). Student gain following skills: - knowledge of Czech and european law in UAV operation, - selection of suitable UAV type and sensor depending on various projects, - flight campaign planning, - flight realization, - data pre-processing, - processing of RGB images in terms of 3d products acquisition (point clouds, digital terrain model), - point clouds classification and post-processing, - processing of thermal and multispectral images, - processing of hyperspectral data, - processing of LiDAR data colledted with UAV.

Course offer students obtaining advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in using unmanned air vehiles (UAV) in geoinformatics and related fields.

Subject syllabus:

UAV categorization. UAV sensor equipment for (spatial) data collection. UAV legislation in the Czech Republic and in EU. Preparation and realization of flight with UAV. Meteorological limitations. Spatial data collection with UAV. RGB imagery processing for 3d products derivation. Structure from Motion technique. Aerial laser scanning using UAV. Classification and filtration of 3d point clouds. Multispectral and thermail imagery processing. Hyperspectral data processing. Longterm monitoring of selected phenomena with UAV.
