Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Each student will learn the basic theories of chemical equilibria, principals of sampling, treatment and dissolution of samples. He receives theoretical skills necessary for volumetric and gravimetric determinations. Then, he will use the skills at concrete chemical analyses in laboratory lessons.

Summary
Subject acquaints students with theoretic and practical rudiment of analytical
chemistry. The lectures contents consist of: explanation of fundamental terms
in ACH, analytical process, sample collection, sample preservation and
storage, conversion of samples into solution, separation methods, chemical
reactions and equilibria, qualitative analysis, gravimetric analysis,
titration.
methods (acid-base, chelatometric, redox and precipitation). The lectures are
completed by examples of utilization of these methods in analytical routine
and by short introduction to statistical processing of measured data.

Subject has no prerequisities.
Co-requisities
Subject has no co-requisities.
Subject syllabus:
Students are acquainted with chemical equilibriums, general principles and procedures in chemical analysis, gravimetric and titration methods (acid-base, complexometric, reduction-oxidation and precipitation). All these methods are demonstrated for their practical utilization in more complicated analyses. Theoretical knowledge are practised in analytical laboratory during individual work.
