Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Course objectiv is submit complete information about the harmful and toxic effects of substances (organic and inorganic), basic concepts of the toxicity, teratogenity, mutagenity, etc. Subject matter is also focused on the toxicity of fungi, plants, animals, drugs, chemical weapons. Aspects of conversion of toxic substances are explained as in the humans body with the individual processes. Part of course is also the legal site and toxicology valid norms, regulations, laws and regulations by the EU. Special attention is devoted to issue of Ecotoxicology and test according to OECD.

Summary

The subject introduces students to the harmful with effects of chemicals and chemical products for humans (inorganic and organic compounds), the forms of entry of these substances in the body and more detailed metabolism. The subject also focuses on some areas of biochemistry, organic chemistry and biology in relation to toxicology, including first aid in case of involvement with these substances. Part of this subject is devoted to actions which take place in the human body, detailed procedures for removal of toxic substances, their effect on mutation, degeneration, carcinogenity, reproduction, mutagenity, as well as the influence of toxicity on the brain, liver, heart and other organs, etc., which breaks down toxic substances, including acute toxicity tests. Part of the subject is closely oriented on a more detailed interpretation on field that is devoted to molds and the associated toxic effects, including issues related to toxic mushrooms, drugs, medications and warfare substances, including toxicology of plants. Further the subject introduces students to the applicable laws and associated regulations and regulations from the field of chemicals and chemical products, namely the existing bylaws Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (Text with EEA relevance) and the Law No. 356/2003 Coll., respectively the Law No. 345/2005 Coll., the law on waste, accidents, narcotics and psychotropic substances, etc. Another form are information on the utilization the application of knowledge in chemistry, eventually in other fields, what mean keeping records of chemicals, work and handling with these agents, provided first aid, safety issues, work with chemicals, etc.
