The aim of the course is the interpretation of the theory and practical exercises selected instrumental methods. The course focuses on the methods with which the graduate is likely to encounter in their practice.

Subject syllabus:
Atomic spectral analysis:
Properties of light, interaction of light with matter. Model of the atom, the formation and properties of atomic emission spectra. Methods atomization and excitation monochromators and detectors. Interaction of X-ray radiation with matter, the formation of X-ray spectra, X-ray source, sample preparation, dispersion X-ray radiation. Atomic absorption spectrum, radiation sources, methods of atomization, correct measurements, monochromators, detectors, mercury analyzers. Instrumentation and sample preparation applications.
Molecular spectral analysis:
Interaction of molecules and the electromagnetic radiation. The emergence of molecular (electron) spectra of vibration and rotation of molecules. Rayleigh and Raman scattering. Instrumentation and sample preparation applications.
Electrochemical methods:
The electrochemical potential of the second electrode conductivity of weak and strong electrolytes, conductivity measurement, polarographic curves, DS and AC methods, stripping voltammetry, instrumentation and sample preparation applications.
Electrophoretic separation methods:
Migration of ions in an electric field, electroosmotic flow, surface and capillary electrophoresis, capillary isotachophoresis. Instrumentation and sample preparation applications.
