Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The purpose of the discipline is the study of chemical reactions between the soil, water, air and the effects of human activities upon these systems.
Teaching methods
Lectures
Summary
A general introduction to chemistry of lithosphere, acid-base and ion exchange
reactions in soil. Fundamentals of aquatic chemistry, reactions in natural
waters and wastewaters. Photochemical reactions in the athmosphere, pollutants,
photochemical smog. Introduction to ecotoxicology.
Compulsory literature:
Manahan S.E.: Environmental chemistry, Lewis publ., London 2000.
Recommended literature:
After an agreement with lecturer.
