Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student understands concept of continuum and its application. He can derive balances of momentum, energy and mass. He can affiliate plausible boundary conditions to real problems. He distinguishes problems solvable solely by complex numerical methods and problems solvable bay common mathematics tools. He masters similarity concept and boundary layer theory.

Summary

Deductive approach to the problems of flow and heat transfer is applied. Viscosity, thermal conductivity and diffusivity is generalized for 3D systems. Application of mathematical modelling to actual technical problems is trained.
