Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of subject: - learn how to create a literature search, - apply acquired theoretical knowledge to different processes of chemical practice. Outputs: The acquired knowledge: - knowledge of the search databases, Acquired skills: - the ability to find the appropriate literature for the processing of scientific work, - the ability to use theoretical knowledge gained in a chemical laboratory.

Summary

The subject acquaints students with chemical practice during practice in the chemical plant. Students will learn to create a literature search. The subject is concluded by credit. For the award of credit is required to submit a report of practice and presentation.

Participation in laboratory exercises and submission of laboratory protocols. Surrendering satisfactory report from the excursion.

Subject syllabus:

Laboratory exercise - Safety in the laboratory, introduction to laboratory assignments, basic information on the exercises and the formulation of requirements for protocol processing, - Pressure loss with flow gas filling (Station absorption), - Drying kinetics of selected material (drying station), - The mass balance calculation constants filtration and the filter equation (Station filtration). - Determination of of falling speed of the particles (sedimentation Station), - Determination of the coefficient of heat transfer (heat station), - Heat loss rectification column (Station rectification), - Electrolysis of water by solar energy (fuel cells Station). Excursion in the chemical plant. Department of quality, environment and safety, technical inspection department. Consultation - Getting familiar with formal layout and content of seminar work. - Demonstration of retrieval of databases and web sites. - Evaluation of the correctness of reports on laboratory exercises. - Evaluation reports from the excursion. - Granting of credit.
