Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goals of subject: – to understand the chemical nature of the production of basic chemicals – to be able to apply the rules of chemical equilibrium and kinetics – to understand the choice and function of reactors and process apparatus and the energy demands of their operation – to consider environmental threads and benefits of various procedures Gained knowledge: – introduction to basic mass production of chemical industry – introduction to qualitative behaviour of chemical reactors including heterogeneous catalytic ones Gained experience: – ability to comprehensively balance the technology of a larger scale – ability to analyze the technological production scheme

Teaching methods

Productions of basic reactive chemical materials, inorganic acids, alkalines, oxidating and reducing reagents. Large-volume final products. Used chemical reactions and auxiliary processes and equipment. Organic substances, processing and chemical use of fossil fuels. Qualified production.
