Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- studedent will be able to characterise physically chemical processes at agglomeration and pelletizing - student will be able to demonstrate mechanism of iron oxides reduction in blast furnace - student will be able to describe desulphurisation in blast furnace

Teaching methods

Summary

Thermodynamic, kinetic and thermal processes of blast furnace combustion zone. Blast furnace aerodynamics. Physico-chemical reactions in blast furnace :volatiliozation, decomposition of hydrates, water-gas shift reaction, carbon deposition, decomposition of carbonates ect. Thermodynamics, kinetics and mechanismus of iron oxides reduction. Direct and indirect reduction. Effect of direct reduction on coke rate. Reduction of various elements. Blast furnace slags. Chemistry of sulphur reaktion. Removal of sulphur. Carburization of iron. Pig iron grades.

Subject syllabus:

Vlastnosti rud,aglomerátu, pelet, koksu, zásaditých přísad a metody jejich zjišťování. Fyzikálně-chemické procesy při spékání a peletizaci. Termodynamické, kinetické a tepelné procesy v oxidační zóně vysoké pece. Plynodynamika vysoké pece. Fyzikální a chemické děje ve vysoké peci. Termodynamika, kinetika a mechanismus redukce oxidů železa ve vysoké peci. Přímá a nepřímá redukce. Vliv podílu přímé redukce na spotřebu uhlíku. Redukce ostatních prvků. Vysokopecní struska. Odsiřování ve vysoké peci. Nauhličování surového železa. Druhy a jakost surového železa.
