Student will be able to formulate : - chemical, mineralogical, physical and metallurgical properties of raw materials - thermal balances by sintering process - peletization of iron ores

Summary

Basic components of blast furnace charge, and quality requirements. Iron ores and its setting. Chemical, mineralogical, physical and metallurgical properties of raw materials. Sintering process of iron ores. Thermodynamics and kinetics of fuel combustion at powder bed. Heat transfer by sintering process. Thermal balances by sintering process. Thermal balances by sintering process. Amount, structure and properties of gaseous phase. Facilities of lowering CO content at combustion gases. Pelleting of fine-grained materials.

1. Basic komponents of blast- furnace charge and requirements on their properties 2. Metallurgicak coke and their role in blast furnace 3. Requirementson quality of metallurgical coke 4. Fluxes base-forming 5. Iron ores and their modification 6. The chemical, mineralogical and physical properties of metallurgical raw ore 7. Characteristics of fine-grained materials 8. Sintering of iron ores 9. Homogenization of ore. 10. Physico-chemical processes during sintering ore. 11. Pelletisation fine grained materials 12. Theoretical foundations pelletizing. High hardening pellets. 13. Binders. Specific methods of sintering and pelletizing 14. Prereduced materials 15. Treatment options for ferruginous waste in the production of sinter and pellets. Ecological aspects of sintering raw ore dust. Praktice 1 Introduction, an exercise program, the conditions for credit, Special Excursion- Geological Collections 2 Raw materials for blast furnace (distribution, types of ore deposit, alternative materials). 3 The symbolism of solid fuels, types of coal and coke, calculation of different moisture. 4 Special Excursion – ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s. 6 Data for individual Semestral work. 7 The actual presentation of Semestral work ( discussion and results) 8 Calculations of the criteria (parameters) blast furnace process 9 Calculations use of heat energy of carbon and heat efficiency of reduction gases CO, CO2 10 Calculation of the composition of the sinter charge, the program No.1 11 Calculation of the efficiency of homogenization equipment 12 Calculation of the degree of reducibility of sinter and pellets, the program No.2 13 The calculation of the coefficient of uniformity of coke charge 14 Evaluation exercise (Semestral work, the program No.1, program No.2)
