Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- student will be able to characterise production technologies in steelmaking aggregates - student will be able to formulate conditions of steel deoxidisation - student will be able to describe ways of steel secondary metallurgy treatment and steel casting - the student will be able to demonstrate basic ongoing regularities during casting, solidification and crystallization of steel, and he is able to verify this knowledge using simulation solidification of ingots (using ProCAST) and in the practical exercises.

Summary

Subject is read with the purpose to understand the theoretical principles of steelmaking, the steelmaking technology in particular aggregates, the steel deoxidization and its treatment by secondary metallurgy, processes taking place during the casting, solidification and crystallization of the steel by the steel ingot casting, and also by the continuous casting machine.
