Summary

Thermodynamic, kinetic and thermal processes of blast furnace combustion zone. Blast furnace aerodynamics. Physico-chemical reactions in blast furnace :volatiliozation, decomposition of hydrates, water-gas shift reaction, carbon deposition, decomposition of carbonates ect. Thermodynamics, kinetics and mechanismus of iron oxides reduction. Direct and indirect reduction. Effect of direct reduction on coke rate. Reduction of various elements. Blast furnace slags. Chemistry of sulphur reaktion. Removal of sulphur. Carburization of iron. Pig iron grades.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures. - Characteristics of ore, sinter, pellets, coke, basic ingredients and methods survey. - Physico-chemical processes during sintering and pelletizing. - Thermodynamic, kinetic and thermal processes in the oxidation zone of the blast furnace. - Gasodynamics of blast furnace. - Physical and chemical processes in the blast furnace. - Thermodynamics, kinetics and mechanism of reduction of iron oxides in blast furnace. - Direct and indirect reduction. - Effect of part direct reduction in carbon consumption. - Reduction of other elements. - Blast furnace slag. - Desulfurization in the blast furnace. -Cementing iron. - Types and quality of pig iron. Praktice 1. Introduction, an exercise program, the conditions for credit 2. Entering semester program, "Evaluation of work and heat reduction furnace" 3. Derivation of basic algorithms for the calculation of specific quantities of top gas and wind 4. Determination of the basic characteristics of heat and pressure furnace work, including the establishment of a complete material balance 5. Calculations according to previous points on an individual assignment 6. Special Excursion - ArcelorMittal, Inc. 7. Calculation of the effective reduction of CO and H2 and the determination of the thermal efficiency of carbon (as an individual award) 8. Theoretical calculation of the minimum consumption of coke by a simplified model 9. Determination of technological efficiency furnaces due to the thermodynamic conditions 10. Graphical results of the evaluation of thermal processing and furnace reduction of work (as an individual award) 11. Special Excursion - Trinecke Iron Works, Inc. 12.Enter individual themes for special paper (development research, according to quotes) 13. The actual presentation of papers given (independent reading, discussion and assessment) 14. Spot evaluation exercise (granting score semester program, score paper, active participation in the exercise) for credit.
