Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
- student will be able to demonstrate basic regularities proceeding at steel casting, solidification and crystallization of steel. Student will be practice this knowledge due to practical exercises in the Department's lab.
- student will be able to formulate micro-segregate and macro-segregate processes in steel
- student will be able to characterize defects of ingots and continuously cast blanks
- student will be know basic possibilities of simulations of ingots' solidification by the ProCast software and the possibilities of utilization of these simulations in the plant conditions.
- student will gain experience of the structure of the continuous casting steel and ingots and using Baumann fingerprints methods for different conditions, with a focus on heterogeneity, segregation and internal defects in steel samples.
