Summary
Blast furnace charge and its components. Metalliferrous part of the charge, fuels and slag-making materials. Classification of iron ores. Chemical, physical and technological characteristics of metalliferrous raw materials. Kinds and characters of metallurgical coke. Its role in the blast furnace. Sintering of iron ores. Preparation and constitution of sintering charge. Sintering processes in the temperature and gas dynamical point of view. Physical – chemical processes in the sintered layer. Sinter characters. Principles of sinter production technology. Pelletizing of fine grained materials. Production of pellets and their compacting. Pre-reduced materials. Environmental protection during the processing of materials for pig iron production.

Subject syllabus:
Základní složky vysokopecní vsázky a požadavky na jejich jakost.
Charakteristika jemnozrných materiálů. Železné rudy a jejich úprava. Chemické,
mineralogické, fyzikální a metalurgické vlastnosti rudných surovin. Spékání
železných rud. Homogenizace rud. Termodynamika a kinetika hoření paliva ve
spékané vrstvě. Přestup tepla při spékání. Tepelné bilance procesu spékání.
Množství, složení a vlastnosti plynné fáze. Možnosti snižování obsahu CO v
aglom.spalinách. Vznik a vlastnosti aglom.taveniny. Peletizace jemnozrných
materiálů. Teoretické základy sbalování. Vysokoteplotní zpevňování pelet.
Fyzikálně-chemické děje při spékání a peletizaci. Zvláštní způsoby spékání a
peletizace. Předredukované suroviny. Možnosti zpracování odpadů v aglomeračním
a peletizačním procesu. Odstraňování škodlivých prvků.
