Student will be able to formulate : - basic principles of blast furnace process - basic principles of blast furnace technology - technological and environmental aspects of ironmaking production

Summary

The subject is focused on expand the knowledge about the technology of the production of pig iron in the blast furnace, on management of blast furnace process, to use innovative processes in the production of pig iron with the use of other fuels, on the ecological aspects of the production of pig iron, modern waste-free technology and BAT applications in the production of pig iron.

Subject syllabus:

Principles of blast furnace process. Processing, charging and distribution of blast furnace burden. Irregularities and their control: channeling, scaffolding, scabs, hanging, slips choking of hearth, chilled hearth, burning of tuyeres. Stove operation. Oxygenation and humidification of blast. High top pressure. Technology of auxilliary fuel injUtilization of ironbeering wastes at pig iron production.Cleanong of blast furnace gas. Gaseous, liquid and solid ontaminated matters at aglomerate and pig iron production. Wastenless technologies and aplication of BATat pig iron production. ection. Cleaning of blast furnace gas. Perspectives of blast furnace technology.
