Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- student will be able to characterise steelmaking technology in electric arc furnaces and electric induction furnaces - student will be able to formulate basic physical chemical processes at steelmaking and ferroalloys production in electric furnaces - student will be able to describe power characteristics of arcs, regulation of electrodes, work of direct-current EAF and new flexible processes in electrometallurgy

Subject syllabus:

1.Teorie vzniku a stabilizace hoření elektrického oblouku. 2.Pracovní elektrická charakteristika EOP. 3.Dynamické a fyzikálně chemické účinky oblouků. 4.UHP a SUHP pece. 5.Intenzifikace tavení v EOP. Použití plynného kyslíku,kyslíkopalivové hořáky. Dmýchání inertního plynu dnem EOP.Výrobnost EOP. 6.Základní části konstrukce EOP. Regulace pohybu elektrod. Statická a dynamická charakteristika regulátoru. 7.Technologie výroby oceli v EOP. Dvoustrusková technologie. Jednostrusková technologie. Význam oxidačního a redukčního údobí tavby. Technologie přetaveb. 8.Termodynamika metalurgických pochodů při oxidační rafinaci lázně s vysokým obsahem chromu. Odfosfoření při výrobě legovaných ocelí. Legování titanem. 9.Chování vodíku a dusíku v průběhu tavby v EOP. Měření teploty lázně. Určování aktivity kyslíku, obsahu vodíku a dusíku v lázni. Automatizace řízení výroby v EOP. 10.Stejnosměrné obloukové pece. Konstrukční a metalurgické odlišnosti od střídavých EOP.Výhody stejnosměrných pecí. 11.Nové pochody ve výrobě elektrooceli – Fuchs Shaft Furnace, Verticon, ConSteel, Comelt-VAI, ContiArc, ConArc, Arcon, Contimet, KES, Danarc. 12.Výroba oceli v indukčních pecích. Teorie ohřevu a tavení. Konstrukční provedení indukčních pecí. 13.Elektrostruskové přetavování, základy termodynamiky a kinetiky výroby feroslitin.
