Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
- The student will be able to characterize the importance, methods and using of modeling techniques in engineering practice
- The student will be able to formulate the basic laws of physical and numerical modeling of processes
- The student will be able to describe similarity of processes, the derivation of the similarity criteria and application of modeling in metallurgy production, processing and casting of steel

Summary
The subject is focused on the deepening of the knowledge from the physical and numerical modelling of metallurgical processes achieved during the study of master degree programs. The topics of modelling will be choosing according to the theme of dissertation thesis.

Subject syllabus:
The principles of methods of process modelling, namely mathematical and physical. The theory of simulation of transition processes in metallurgy and its importance in technological practice. Kinetics of elements transfer between two phases (the slag-metal).
