Absolvent kurzu dokáže využít teoretické poznatky z úvodu předchozího cyklu přednášek Dějiny umění I. Orientuje se v základních duchovních proměnách a v návaznosti v proměnách umění i architektury v období 15. až 1. poloviny 18. století. Rozezná základní díla vrcholné renesance v Itálii a Záalpí. Pochopí situaci manýrismu jako dozvuku vrcholné renesance pro nástup baroka. Dokáže odlišit radikální a klasicizující projevy umění 17. a 18. století. Pozná klíčová díla renesanční a barokní výtvarné kultury a architektury. V oboru plastiky je schopen konfrontovat charakteristické stylové znaky probraných etap s možnostmi produkce uměleckého slévárenství.

Summary
The second part of the cycle is focused on the main art streams of Renaissance and Baroque art in Italy and Renaissance in North Europe and centres of art which have influenced the rest of Europe. Mannerism is explained both as one of the results of the intellectual crisis in the end of Renaissance and as the first sign of the Baroque art culture. The end of the cycle is concentrated on problems of the Czech Baroque art. All lessons are equipped with pictures. 80% presence in lessons is necessary as well as passing the test according to the criteria given by the teacher.

Subject syllabus:
1. The Proto-renaissance and its manifestations. The beginning of the modern times and intellectual adaptation of antiquity; art and architecture of the quattrocento and cinquecento in Tuscany and Veneto.
2. Humanism in North Europe and its manifestations in the visual culture: the Netherlands and German speaking countries. Survival of the Middle-Ages forms vs. so called Czech Renaissance.
3. The change of the intellectual climate and art after sacco di Roma; spreading and centres of Mannerism.
4. The Baroque city. Radical and classical forms in the architecture from the 17th to the first half of the 18th century in Rome, Piemont, Venice, Naples etc.
5. Important artists of the Italian Baroque sculpture and painting. Academies in the centres of European art.
6. The architecture of the 17th and 18th century out of Italy – England, Germany, northern and southern Netherlands.
7. The architecture, sculpture and painting of the “Great Century” in France and their changes during the regency.
8. Protagonists and the genre in the Dutch painting.
9. The Baroque culture in Spain. The relationship between a patron and an artist in the Vélazquez´s life story.
10. The Dutch painting of the 17th century.
11. The Czech Baroque art or the Baroque art in Bohemia? The strangeness of the Baroque creation in Moravia. .
