Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Acquired knowledge:
- the student will be able to characterize and applicate the Rapid prototyping methods
- the student will be able to orientate in the handmade of non-permanent mold, forms on the free model
- the student will be able to known the principles of formation model and filling sand mixture
Acquired skills:
- the student will be able to prepare nonpermanent mould
- the student will be able to prepare moulding mixture to prepare moulds and cores

Summary
The subject is aimed on Rapid prototyping methods and their utilization in industrial applications. Further on it is aimed on the mastering of the production of non-permanent molds for casting using a split-split model.

Subject syllabus:
1. Basic methods of Rapid prototyping (RP) technologies. Comparison of individual technologies, advantages and deficiencies
2. RP methods based on photopolymers and solid materials
3. RP methods based on powder materials
4. Post processing – final processing of patterns
5. The essentials of mold manufacturing , types of molding boxes , molding tools , tools .
6. The essentials of hand shaping , preparing sand mixture proportioning binders and additives , preparation model , core sand mixtures and filling , compacting sand mixtures .
7. Hand molding undivided model on a flat parting surface, forming a split model.
8. Formation of the shape dividing surface - to staggered . Formation of the loose parts - wedges.
9. Making molds using genuine nuclei , production of cores in the core , degassing units, types of cores .
10.Structure and function of gating - hole , stake , cuts, pads , exhausts, chills.
11.Foundry properties of metallic alloys, download, fluidity. Casting properties.
12.Cast metal into sand molds , a design of the method of molding and casting gating system , riser - draft size and location of the boss. The choice of gating by the cast material.
13.Basic processes of finishing of castings. Finishing, blasting, cutting, grinding and chiselling .
