Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Acquired knowledge: -student will be able to characterize the physico-chemical processes in iron smelting in electric furnaces. -student will have theoretical and practical knowledge mimopecního processing of iron and technological methods of casting iron castings. Acquired skills: -student will be able to use their knowledge to make decisions about how to metallurgical processing and casting -student will be able to apply theoretical knowledge to manage the process of production of iron castings

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

The course focuses on the theoretical and practical knowledge of iron metallurgy and technology and their application in smelting and processing mimopecním. Emphasis is placed on understanding the ongoing processes of melting and explain the nature of vaccination and modification of cast iron. Students will learn about the physical nature of volume changes during solidification of cast iron and about the principles of technological design of castings and risers.
