- to observe mechanism and kinetics of distribution and composition of fuels - combustion products, physico-chemical characteristics of flame - to apply thermodynamic and kinetics quantities for the minimization of harmful substance produced by fuels combustion - to describe machinery for fuels combustion - principal characteristics, advantages and drawbacks, progression - to apply gained theoretical knowledge in routine

Podmínky pro udělení zápočtu: - účast na cvičeních min.79% (max. 3 omluvené neúčasti) - účast na cvičení menší než 79% poskytuje možnost neudělení zápočtu - úspěšné absolvování samostatné výpočtové písemky – max. 20 bodů - oprava písemky – lze opravit maximálně jednu písemku maximálně jedenkrát. Bodové hodnocení zápočtu: - zápočet min. bodů 10 - zápočet max. bodů 20 V celkovém zisku bodového ohodnocení zápočtu musí být obsaženo nenulové hodnocení všech výpočtových písemek Bodové hodnocení zkoušky: - ústní zkouška – max. 80 bodů Bodové hodnocení předmětu se získá součtem bodů za cvičení a za absolvování zkoušky. Výsledná klasifikace je dána podmínkami ve Studijním a zkušebním řádu VŠB TUO.

Subject syllabus:

1. Thermodynamics. The First Law of thermodynamics, The Second Law of thermodynamics, Gases, The heat capacities, Enthalpy, Internal Energy, Thermochemistry, The variation of enthalpy with temperature, Kirchhoff’s law. The adiabatic reaction temperature. 2. Fuel. Gaseous, liquid and solid fuel, chemical and others properties of a fuel, composition and combustion of a fuel, amount of oxygen and air for combustion, the combustion products. 3. Equilibrium composition of the products of burning. The equilibrium constant, the effect of the pressure, the temperature and the concentrations of the reacting matters on the equilibrium. 4. Flame and burning. The physical and the chemical characteristic of the flame, the radiation of the flame, the flame - kinetic, diffusion, laminar, turbulent and regulated. 5. Kinetics of combustion of a fuel. Mechanism and kinetics of the burning reactions - gaseous, liquid and solid fuel. 6. Heterogeneous kinetics of the burning reactions, diffusion and adsorption (physical adsorption and chemisorption). 7. The mechanism of the chemical reactions, the chain reaction – the kinetic chain length, the thermal reaction, the explosion transformations. 8. The fossil fuel – characteristic, reserves and applications. 9. Power industry, the combustion of the fuel, the efficiency of combustion. 10. The production of the pollutants – minimization. 11. The modern combustion systems. The combustion of the solid fuel – principle. 12. The combustion of the liquid and the gaseous fuel – principle, the rational application of the fuel. 13. The new energetic sources, the combustion of the biomass and the wastes, the fuel cells.
