Subject syllabus:
Characterization of solid materials, especially catalysts and sorbents. Description of techniques and strategy selection of suitable experimental techniques for the characterization of catalysts – influence of various factors (chemical composition of catalyst, particle size and shape, size and distribution of pores, structure of the catalyst surface composition and properties of the catalyst, type and concentration of active centers, acid-base properties, redox characteristics, properties of metal catalysts). Possibilities of in situ characterization and "high throughput methods".
