Summary
1. Moulding materials and mixtures, opening materials, bonding-agent systems
of
the lst-4th generation. Moulds and cores, surface protection – spraying,
coatings and paints
2. Elements of gating, calculation of the teeming time, the gatings according
to the AFS-standard.
3. Structure of molten metals, nucleation, constitutional under-cooling. The
primary crystallization of castings
4. Changes in volume of steels and cast irons in the course of
crystallization.
Risering of the thermal nodal sites
5. Elimination of the thermal nodal sites by changed design, by the outside
and
inside cooling
6. Mathematical solution of the course of solidification of the thermal nodal
sites
7. Superficial and internal defects of castings, surface roughness and the
burning-in defects.
8. Condensing zone of water and its consequences, origination of scabs
9. Gases picked up in metals, exogeneous and endogeneous sources of gas
