Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will be able as follows:
- to get through with the bases of spatial layout of foundries;
- to explain melting units design;
- to describe machine and equipment operations for manufacture of moulds and cores;
- to explain die casting and investment casting methods;
- to describe plants for knocking out and finishing of castings.
Teaching methods
Summary
Distribution of foundry shops according to different criteria. The fundamental
data of the technical and economical parameters of the foundry shops. Halls
for
raw materials, storage rooms and equipment for preparation of the charging
materials. Melting units of various sorts and auxiliary facilities for
preparation of charges.
