The student will be able to define and compare the basic types of non-ferrous alloys used in the manufacture of metal castings
- The student will be able to describe the principles of metallurgical processing of alloys
- The student will be able to suggest suitable technological process to produce castings of ferrous alloys

Summary
The subject is Focused on Improvement and Advancement of Knowledge about Chemical and Metallographic cleanliness of steel. It deals with Possibilities of cleanliness classification, technological method of ITS Achievement and Exact Methods of evaluation of ITS. The intention is to demonstrate relation Wider Between Technology of Steel Production, cleanliness of steel and Usable properties of steel.

Lecture
We were advised that those items were 14 weeks in a semester, but not to follow it.
1st Introduction, brief breakdown of non-ferrous metals and their alloys.
2nd Melting of non-ferrous metals. Physico-chemical processes for melting nonferrous metals.
3rd Aluminium alloys - structure, properties and uses.
4th Vaccination and modification of Al alloys.
5th Terms of melting and casting of aluminum alloys.
6th Quality control of molten material (thermal analysis).
7th Gases in the non-ferrous alloys (determination of gas, degassing). Filtration.
8th Low-melting metal alloys - structure, properties and uses.
9th Copper alloys - structure, properties and uses.
10th Terms of melting and casting of copper alloys.
11th Titanium and magnesium alloys - structure, properties and uses.
12th Range of technologies used in the manufacture of castings from non-ferrous metals.
13th Heat treatment of castings. Finishing the operation of casting.
14th Defects in castings of non-ferrous metals.
Exercise
1st Safety training. Overview of castings of non-ferrous metals in the CR and abroad. Semester work.
2nd Melting of aluminum alloys - practical exercises in the laboratory. Control and monitoring of significant melt process parameters (melt temperature, thermal analysis). Evaluation of technological properties.
3rd Melting and casting of aluminum alloys - practical exercises in the laboratory. Determination of the amount of gases in the melt and remove them - degassing.
4th Tours of the foundry aluminum alloy (Hayes Lemmerz, Ostrava), with a practical demonstration of the entire production process.
5th Determination of the number of inclusions in aluminum alloys - practical exercises in the laboratory. Addressed. The use of filtration in the production of castings.
6th Vaccination and modification of aluminum alloys - practical exercises in the laboratory. Using thermal analysis to verify the effectiveness of metallurgical response. The analysis of cooling curves.
7th Melting and casting of copper alloys for - practical exercises in the laboratory. Specifics of the smelting bronze and brass. Using the metallurgical response.
8th Excursion to the copper alloy foundry (foundry Vitkovice, Ostrava). Getting to know the entire manufacturing process of casting bronze and brass using gravity and centrifugal casting.
9th Seminar - Professional discussions between students and teachers of subjects continuously processed in the semester work.
10th Melting and casting of magnesium alloys - practical exercises in the laboratory. Specifics of melting, the use of protective atmosphere during the casting and casting, preparation of special molds for the casting of these alloys.
11th Solution gating and Feeding. Enter drawing for a rolling production of casting non-ferrous metals.
12th Analysis of the microstructure of aluminum, copper and magnesium. Possibilities of their influence.
13th Seminar - Professional discussions between students and teachers on topics processed in the semester work.
14.Test. Credit.
