Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject is focuses on the design of automotive structures. Students will become acquainted with the modern materials used in the automotive industry and with technologies suitable for making joints of such materials as welding, bonding and riveting. In the course the students will learn about strength calculations of welded, glued and riveted joints, marking the joints on the drawings. Furthermore, the weldability of welded joints will be solved - welds obtuse, round, point, perforated. Last but not least, the students will get acquainted with the statics and the fundamentals of the elasticity of these joints, mechanical tests of welded and glued joints, and evaluation of the defects of these joints.
