Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will get to know the technologies and procedures that are used in the surface treatment of bodywork and car parts. As part of the study, the student will acquire basic knowledge of the technologies for the preparation of various types of material surfaces intended for the application of sprays and coatings. He will also gain knowledge about the protection of surfaces against corrosion and oxidation. The student will become familiar with the technological procedures and times that must be observed when applying individual types of surface treatments. In addition, the student gets to know the finishing operations and gets an overview of the procedures for repairing defects. In the course, students will also gain knowledge about quality control procedures for surface treatments.

Summary
The course focuses on technologies and processes for surface treatment of car bodies and automotive parts. Students will gain knowledge of surface preparation, corrosion and oxidation protection, application of coatings and paints, finishing operations, and defect repair procedures. Quality control processes for surface treatments are also covered. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to independently design technological processes for surface treatment of various types of automotive parts and apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
