Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After completing the course, the student will be able to: - describe the basic relationships between the microstructure and mechanical properties of metal materials prepared by additive technologies. - characterize the development of the microstructure during solidification and heat treatment of products prepared by additive technologies. - define the advantages and disadvantages of individual technologies. - describe the basic methods of structural phase analysis for materials prepared by additive technologies. -optimize the microstructure of metallic materials for the proposed applications.

Summary

The subject characterizes theoretical and practical information used during the preparation and heat treatment of metal materials prepared by additive manufacturing. The graduate will have an overview of the individual available metal materials that are currently being prepared using additive technologies. Attention will be primarily focused on the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties.
