Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Student will be able to describe equipment of forges. Enumerate swaging machines. Identify basic types of die forgings. Suggest and solve heating techniques in forges. Choose technological forging processes.

Summary
The subjects gives an overview under-used to be owing to physical, mechanical and metallurgical parameter forging on structure and mechanical properties free and drop forgings. In technological parts is attention sight on warming-up steel, forming machine and equipment forge, on demand on input blank stock on one's behalf hammering, technological processing free and die forgings, heat treatment and verification forgings.

Subject syllabus:
1. Introduction to forging processes 2.Forging equipment and dies. 3.Hammers and presses for forging. 4. Dies and die materials for hot forging. 5.Open die forging. 6. Closed-die forging in hammers and presses. 7. Hot upset forging. 8. Roll forging. 9. Ring rolling. 10. Rotary swaging of bars. 11. Radial forging. 12 Rotary forging. 13. Precision hot forging. 14. Powder forging.
Tutorial
1. Determination of the coefficient of friction in upset forging. 2. Example upseting of aluminium ring. 3. Stresses required for upset forging of solid cylinders. 4. Example-cylinders of steel. 5.
