Student will be able to: - list and describe the basic forms of roll grooves. - identify the input and output parameters influencing the roll pass desing. - solce the extension coefficient and contact area at rolling. - choose the appropriate set of roll passes according to the resulting shapes.

Summary

The course closely follows the subject Rolling Technology. Solves the flow of metal at the longitudinal rolling in roll groove. Serves specialized knowledge of roll groove, roll pass design and characteristics of rolling shaped profiles.

Subject syllabus:

Lectures: 1. Roll groove, its parts, geometry, Roll desing of semi-finishing and preparative passes 2. Roll Design of pre-finish and finish passes - dimensional characteristics 3. Geometry of grooved roll, rotary dvojparaboloid 4. The upper pressure, lower pressure, the neutral axis of the roll groove 5. Rules for placement of groove on the roll, life of roll 6. The flow of material, unequal deformation in roll groove 7. The behavior of the roll at a load of rolling force, spread at roll pass desing 8. Contact area with the walls of roll 9. Roll pass desing - general laws 10. Basic at roll pass desing at rolling of I, U bars and rails, universal wide beams 11. Shaping of flat-rolled products in the production of bent sections, special cases of production Exercise: 1. Construction of the basic extension roll passes 2. Technical drawing of the basic extension roll passes - report 3. Design of finish and pre-finish roll pass, coefficient of thermal expansion 4. Calculation of tip velocity, determine the working diameter of the cylinder, the upper and lower pressure 5. Computation of gravity centre for roll groove 6. Determination of unequal deformation - report 7. Determination of contact area by grafo-analytic method 8. Graphic determination of contact area - report 9. Rolling schedule on Roughing Mill - report 10. Roll pass desing during rolling of rod - report 11. Exkursion to long product mill
