Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will be able to use numerical software based on computer aided design. Student will be able to formulate basic presumptions that are necessary for simulation creation. Student will be able to describe the parameters of deformation as well as deformation behaviour of material during plastic deformation.

Summary

The subject is focused on theoretical and practical aspects of numerical as well as physical modelling utilization. Attention is paid on basics that are necessary for forming problem definning as well as for the initial and boundary conditions determination used in simulation.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to numerical support of forming, present state of utilization of in forming processes. Utilization of numerical modeling during conventional forming processes. 2. Physical and numerical modeling of plastic deformation, theoretical aspects, necessary presumptions 3. Possibilities of MS Office tools utilization on deformation parameters prediction 4. The methods of processing of experimental data, utilization of results and their transformation 5. Graphical evaluation of forming technologies, the ways of results presentation 6. Introduction with other software applicable in forming and possibilities of their mutual connection 7. Data export and import among software 8. The basics of 2D and 3D modeling, potentialities of definition, application of axi-symetrical problems 9. Introduction to object construction, necessary for numerical simulation, problem of individual parts and assemblies creation 10. The specifics of 2D and 3D symmetry, problems during work composition 11. Creation of simple objects suitable for numerical problem definition 12. Prediction of heating and cooling of formed materials, utilization of simulations in area of heat transfer, heat flow 13. The possibilities of interconnection between lab and numerical simulation, the ways of calculation correction 14. Practical utilization of results arisen from modeling in specific applications. Prediction of deformation parameters, final microstructures and mechanical properties of shaped products.
