Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student will can elaborate a literary research on the given topic, he will be able to present and defend the theoretical part of diploma thesis and suggest the solution methods of its practical part.

The subject is focused on activities regarding solution of diploma thesis.

Papers in Journals: International Materials Reviews, Iron & Steel Technology, Ironmaking & Steelmaking, International Foundry Research, ISIJ International, Kovove materialy - Metallic Materials, Metallurgical and Materials Transaction, Steel Research International, Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, Archives of Metallurgy and Materials, etc.

Recommended literature:

Conference proceedings - e.g. SteelSim, ISSTech, METAL, ICM&T, IFCP, Forming, etc.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Getting acquainted with the progress of diploma theses.

The review and analysis at least three foreign and three other literary sources must be done.

Subject syllabus:

1 Formal requirement for the master thesis, a discussion of the source literature, citation rules, format and scope of the master thesis. 2 Processing of literature review aimed at addressing the master thesis. 3 Analysis of at least six selected literary sources. Three foreign and three other literary sources from the area of solved problems in the form of text as a basis for the master thesis. 4 Draft of experimental part of master thesis devoted to the methodology, realisation of experiments, analysis and evaluation of obtained data. 5 Ongoing consultations as necessary with the supervisor or master's thesis consultant. 6 Checking of the literary reviews and analysis and progress of work on master thesis and the granting credit.
