Subject syllabus:

Lectures 1.Technological requirements for lining furnaces and heating equipment. 2.Use of refractory materials - draft terms of decision-lining. 3.Consumption of refractory materials in various industrial sectors (metallurgy of ferrous and nonferrous metals, chemicals, glass, construction materials and fuels). 4.Basic refractory materials for furnace structure and characteristics - shape and non-shaped construction materials, heat insulation materials. 5.Temperature work lining - lining solution temperature field in a time-steady and unsteady state, one-sided heating, heating the entire volume, continuous and cyclic heating, 1 and 2 Fourier's law, initial and surface conditions. 6.Effect of insulation in the lining, the basic thermal and technical properties of refractory materials (thermal conductivity, heat capacity, viscosity, density, bulk density). 7.Effect of corrosion lining and measures for its prevention - study of the interaction between slag and refractory materials (application ternary diagrams), cooling lining. 8.Technology of making linings. Linings of dense shaped material, unshaped from building materials, cellular and fibrous materials. Monoliths. Anchoring and hanging lining. 9. Construction of lining of metallurgical units (blast furnace, heaters, wind, pig iron mixer, converter, tandem furnace, EAF, electric induction furnaces, etc.). 10. Construction of linings in secondary metallurgy (ladles, tundish + shading and dip tube, vacuum equipment for steel, etc.). 11. Construction of linings of furnaces linings in ceramics, glass, and power industry (fuel drying, chamber furnace, tunnel kiln, rotary and shaft kiln for burning raw materials, glass melting furnaces). 12. Repair of lining - lining repair technology "cold" and "hot" (shotcreting, shotkretování, coating slag, slag splashing, etc.), ways of increasing the life of furnace linings and thermal devices. Exercise 1. Linear and polynomial regression - using the least squares method for approximating the dependencies. 2. Wider use of built-in functions of MS Excel – function KDYŽ, VYHLEDAT, INDEX, POZVYHLEDAT, BESSELJ 3. Boundary conditions - Calculation of the heat transfer coefficient on the outside of the lining - using criterial equations and equations for radiation heat transfer. 4. Solution of temperature field lining - Stationary temperature field of one-dimensional (plane wall, cylindrical, spherical). The use of iterative method. 5. Energy balance - calculating enthalpy of linings. 6.Trancient heat conduction problems - Solution in infinite plate for various boundary conditions (q = const., Tenv = const; Tsup = const.; Tsup = f (time); Tenv = f (time), etc.). 7. Trancient heat conduction problems - Solution in infinite cilinder for various boundary conditions (q = const., Tenv = const; Tsup = const.; Tsup = f (time); Tenv = f (time), etc.). 8.Calculation of transcendental equations (graphically, numerically), Bessel functions. 9.Solution of trancient heat conduction problems for 3D shapes (cuboid, prism, cylinder). 10. Numerical Methods (method of elementary balances). 11.Macros in MS Excel - View card developer, creating macros, use the controls. 12. Fundamentals of Programming in VBA - Sub / Function, variable declarations, create your own formulas, creating user forms.
