Teaching methods

Summary

Technical ceramics for law- and high-temperature applications, oxides, carbides, nitrides, silicides. Refractory materials for industrial furnaces - the main types, properties, technology. Insulating materials. Building binders: gypsum plaster, lime, Portland cement (raw materials, mineralogical composition, the clinker formation, processes of setting and hardening), aluminous cement. Application of building binders.

Subject syllabus:

Průmyslová technická keramika pro nízkoteplotní a vysokoteplotní aplikace. Žárovzdorné materiály: kritéria dělení, základní vlastnosti, hlavní typy ŽM, jejich výroba a použití. Izolační materiály. Anorganická stavební pojiva: sádrová, hořečnatá, vápenná, cementy. Portlandský cement – kritéria skladby surovinových směsí, procesy tvorby cementového slínku, technologie výroby, vlastnosti cementů. Hydratace. Aplikace pojiv. Využití druhotných surovin.
